Born in Boston Massachusetts in 1928, Laurence was a painter, an illustrator, a director at an art school, as well as a deeply loved New Mexican. He gave private lessions to a Senator, and he helped raise legal funds for the residents of the Pojoaque Valley in their water rights battle.
Sisson lived in Massachusetts, Maine, and Japan before moving to Santa Fe New Mexico in 1979 and ultimately Albuquerque several years later, where he lived until his passing in 2015.
As an accomplished painter, Sisson worked in oil and watercolor. Paiting the landscapes of New Mexico, as well as the coastlines of Maine, using abstract and surrealistic techniques.
